September 9, 1901: death of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec
Pic: La Goulue (the glutton) arrives at the Moulin Rouge Okay, so this is more art, than fashion. But, I've been thinking about visiting the Montmartre's Moulin Rouge when I get the chance (in a few, fingers crossed). It's fair to say that Toulouse-Lautrec and le Moulin Rouge developed the most perfect of symbiotic relationships, even if degenerate ― excuse me. No other artist captures the lifestyle and underlying (perverse) intimacies, and consequently, a testament of the fashions of le beau monde de la Belle Époque in its entirety as Toulouse-Lautrec did; well, in my humble opinion. Read about Toulouse-Lautrec in the Times and at Channel 4.
Treasured kisses.
